Dynaspeak Student Wins NZ Karate Championship

Yoshiyasu Kawamura changed his life at age 30, quitting after 6 years' toil at a big Japanese car manufacturer to find his dream.

karate01His friend in Japan (Makoto IMAEDA), former Dynaspeak student and triathlon sportsman, convinced him to improve his communication skills through Dynaspeak's unique effective classes in Auckland. Lacking confidence, Yoshi knew he needed practical English, especially to join a local club to practise Kyokushin-karate, his favourite sport. He was very happy after quickly improving his listening and speaking skills at Dynaspeak.

In March 2005 Yoshi competed in the national Kyokushin Karate Championships in Wellington, quickly winning titles in all classes. At first feeling afraid of the strongly built New Zealanders with their different Karate style, Yoshi was thrilled by the warm response and sportsmanship of Kiwi fans. He loved to show them true Japanese Karate and he was crowned New Zealand Open Champion!

Yoshi enjoys the tasty food, casual lifestyle and beautiful sea in New Zealand. Looking forward to the next Karate Championship, he's working part-time at a car repair shop and making the very most of his Working Holiday dream.

Thaina says

quotemark I'm Thaina and I am from Curitiba in Brazil. I have studied English at other schools, in Brazil and overseas, and I can honestly say Dynaspeak English is the best. The reason is simple: the Dynaspeak English course is exceptional! Dynaspeak's completely different speaking class, with only 8 students, really works!quotemark
